My name is Robert Ziwani, I live in Montreal, Quebec, CANADA. I presently own 2 '69 GTO's (1 H/T 4-speed and a newly purchased (in 1997) '69 GTO Convertible 4-speed). I've owned the 1st since 1980 (it was a combination of 2 '69 GTO's, 1 from Canada--rust bucket, and 1 from Chicago---Good condition). The Canadian car was an Auto with a standard 350hp-400, with decent options: pw,ps,pdb, hideaways, console. It had a black interior (V.Good shape), which I transferred over to the Chicago car, along with the Engine. The chicago car was a project my Brother-in-law had started but never finished, so he gave it to me (less engine). It had a 4-speed (which I kept) and a parchement interior (which I sold). The car had ALL the options of my Canadian car EXCEPT the PW's. It is Red on Black now and I added Fiberglass fenders and 1/4's and a Hood tach.I just recovered the Matching Numbers WT coded 400 engine for it and will need to rebuild it one day. My latest addition (1997) is a Frame off resto, of a CANADIAN car...The amazing thing about it is: All floors and 1/4's have never been redone..all original metal! The fenders were probably replaced (at least one of them) and the car has NO BONDO. It also has a 4speed, as well as pw,ps,pdb , rear spoiler and hideaways. The engine is a RAIII WS code (but not original). It has been rebuilt in 1994 with TRW piston, a Crane cam, RAIII Exhaust Manifolds(repro), Stainless steel exhaust, brake lines AND fuel lines. The interior is Black and exterior is Torch Red (I believe from a 1990 GM car). The car simply needed TLC, and it got it. 1969 GTO CONVERTIBLE Frame-Off restoration SPECS: Red/Black/Black, with a rebuilt 400 RAIII WS coded engine (non-original), #48 heads, an M20 4-speed,PS,PDB,PW,hideaways,console,Pontiac Sport wheel, rallye gauges, in-dash tach, rear Judge spoiler,12-bolt Chevy Posi (3.31), Wooden shifter knob, and Rally-II's. Stainless steel exhaust, fuel lines, and brake lines. Original Canadian Car with original Floors, 1/4's, doors, trunk, and hood.I have owned this car since Sept/97. Car was used in 1998 in a movie called "36 Hrs to Die", starring Treat Williams. It was his personal car in the movie. I still have some final touches to put on it for it to become a low 2 driver... 1969 GTO HARDTOP SPECS: Red/Black, restored from 2 1969's: 1 from Quebec,CANADA (Auto) 1 from Chicago (4-speed). Kept Chicago frame and scrapped other one (rusted body mounts). Red/Black car. It now has 400 YS engine with 62 heads (ORIGINAL untouched except for Torker aluminum intake, aluminum valve covers and headers). Has 137 000 Original miles. It has an M20 4-speed,PS,PDB,hideaways,hood tach,10 bolt (3.55), tinted glass, rear defog, and power antenna. I have added Fiberglass front fenders and rear quarters for lighter weight. I have owned this car since 1980. Recovered original Numbers Matching WT coded 400 engine (that I'll one day rebuild) Well that's it for me.... |
