For those who don't know me, I'm a 30-something who lives outside of Houston. I have a street/strip '67 Firebird that I've been playing with for the last few years. 455, 16 heads, dished TRW pistons for ~9.9:1 CR, UltraDyne 288/296 H8, Torker II, Holley 750 DP, 3.42 gears, full exhaust. Best run in street trim (full exhaust, 275/60-15 BFG Drag Radials, 2500 stall) is a 11.90 @ 113.55. Best 1/8 mile is a 7.52. FLASH!!! I've now added Harland Sharp 1.65 rockers, and refreshed the heads with new SI stainless valves. I've also changed converters to increase the stall speed to approximately 3000rpm. With those changes, and a set of 9" slicks, I ran 11.77 @ 113.6mph on a 81 degree, 80-percent humidity, 30.05 pressure night. The race weight on that run was 3600#. More specifics on the car can be found on Bill Boyle's Pontiac Street Performance website. |
