I started by gutting the car to just the body and frame. I sharted with the body the quarters where shot and so where the rear wheel wells. Lots of rust damage in the trunk area along with a few spots in the back seat. Other then this is car was good. I got the wheel wells from AZ. and they matchec up great. After a few months of body work i had the car painted a viper blue. After that i had the int. refinished seats, carpet, console, gauges. I then reworked the brake system. Finally i yanked the engine and rebuilt it. The engine was a 76 400 with an hei. I had the block bored .30 had the crank reconditioned, rods redone and fitted with new arp bolts. Had a set of twr pistions dished for 9.4:1. I got a set of 62 heads from CA and had them completly redone. Every part new ranging from the rockers to the valves. Used a comp cam 230/236 from the extreme energy line. had my stock carb rebuilt in Texas. Used a 71 intake. I later added a roll rontrol and its done. I want to replace the 3speed with a 4speed but other then that the 3.73 rear end lays an impressive strip that makes me very proud of my first car. |
