Original performance was poor. The Torker I intake and Holley were high RPM items with poor low RPM response, but the replacement 389 shortblock (from a í65 Catalina) was rebuilt with a economy-type cam and stock exhaust for low RPM usage. And it was ugly! OM Taylor's 'spare' tripower and heads along with a bigger cam and better exhaust helped a lot. The interior scared the dogs and smelled nasty,I found moldy house fiberglass insulation under the carpet. Much better repainted with Rustoleum gray.
